Going vegan is not the answer. Using electric cars is not the answer. Vaccines are not the answer. Going plastic-free is not the answer.
What we need are fewer people on this planet and a more simple lifestyle.
I love technology and advancement and I appreciate the achievements of modern society and our standard of living as much as anybody else.
But I’m coming more and more to the conclusion, that our way to the future should not entail more engineering of nature or introducing more superficialities to defy the threats we as humans face. It rather should be a way back to our real human nature, living in unison with the planet we are all part of.
In the last 100 years, we’ve drastically changed the way of living for all creatures on planet earth. We’ve seen what we are capable of and how far we can come. But we now also know the costs of doing so.
We must acknowledge that we can maintain such a high standard of living for so many people only if we exploit the resources of our planet and the lives of humans and animals alike relentlessly.
We have seen that our advancements are putting incredible stress on humans, animals and our ecosystem. And that the conclusion has to be, if we work another 100 years like this, the standard of living will decrease for everyone.
We could be the generation that will turn everything around. We could stop this madness, break up those megacities, reestablish small community-oriented living, stop artificially increasing our life expectancy, stop mass production and modern slavery of humans and animals.
We can only be happy and healthy again if we stop trying to be something we aren’t.
Therefor I say: Let’s go back to stone age. Let’s be apes again. Let’s live a simple life, in small communities, in unison with mother nature. Let’s put compassion, teamwork and love at the top of our society's value system again!
