The key to a happy and successful life is our ability to control our emotions.
That doesn't mean to suppress them, it means to not let them control our thinking and decision-making.
Most of us do not get taught that skill when we grow up - mostly because the adults in our environment haven't learned that either - and so we struggle a lot with our perspectives on life and to make sense of it all.
Think about it: We've only come so far as a human society because some of us have learned how to control their emotions.
But we are still not able to teach everybody.
Why is that? How can we do better?
I believe it's our duty as responsible members of this society and before we want to bring new life into it to get to know ourselves, understand our ways of thinking, feeling and reasoning and heal ourselves from the traumas of the past.
Only when we know how to take control of our own minds can we become better individuals and ultimately build a better society.
